Maryam Amoosa: Poet and Photojournalist

Maryam Amoosa, poet, photographer and journalist was born in Tehran, Iran, 1979. She received her high school diploma in literature and enetered Azad University of Tehran Central Branch to continue her literature studies. At the moment she is a master degree student of literature at Payame Noor University Tehran Branch (Iranian Long-distance University).
Maryam started saying her poems since 1996 and later in 2001 she began composing stories and joined to the story-composing workshops of Hossein Abkenar.

Her poetic works as well as her book on Oral history of Manuchehr Atashi in the form of a couple of interviews with Mohammad Hoghughi, Ali Baba Chahi, Simin Bhebahani, Mohammad Mohammad Ali, Abdolali Dastgheib, Shams Langerudi, Seyed Ali Salehi and so on… are under publication.

Maryam started her first journalistic experience as the editor-in-chief of a student journal called Kargah in Azad University. Since 2003, she has cooperated with many important news agencies such as ISNA, ILNA, IBNA, Mehr News and important newspapers such as Jomhuriyat, Shargh, Hamshahri, Etemaad, Khabar and so on. Also she has worked with other medias such as Atiban, IRIB and some journals such as Bokhara, Nameh, Nafeh and so on.

Nasehpour Ensemble to perform at German festival

TEHRAN — Iran’s Nasehpour Ensemble will give a concert at the Musics of the World Festival that will be held from November 8th, 2009, in Halle, Germany.

The concert, which is a Improvisational performance, was held two years ago at the festival and was warmly received by the audience.
